Challenge # 18

MFP Challenge is Anything goes this week.
We would be delighted if you would join us this
week! Stop over and show us your creation.

Im in tag  and watercolor mode this week so here
we go with another one.  I started out cutting the
bottom of the tag with a Spellbinder Fancy Tag
die and the top with the Scalloped Oval die, the
embossed a strip across the bottom
. Using some Tim Holtz  Dusty Concord &
Peeled Paint along with some Stampin UP
Old Olive to created the background. I have
used the Iris from the Bearded Iris Set.
After stamping and coloring is twice I cut them
both out to use on the tag. They looked so flat
so I added some cheesecloth behind them.
The butterfly is cut with a Cherry Lynn die
and jewels added. The sentiments are from the
Today Tomorrow and Forever Set & the       .
The ribbon was dyed to match. Although you
cant really see them their are some
 purple sequins scattered too.

I love Irises, they come in such a wide array of  colors
making them so versatile, able to use in all kinds of
combinations. I actually colored up several different ones
but the yellow turned out to look the best with the
background so yellow it was! It is a great one to color and cut out.
Check it out along will all the  other GREAT sets at the MFP Shop.

The sequins and jewels show up here.
You can see the embossed border a little better here.

Team B's Challenge

Tuesday Throwdown  is being sponsored Newton's Nook this week
The CHALLENGE is Anything Goes.I have used the Freebie Sunflower Image.
They also have many GREAT stamp Sets you can order.
I decided to make a tag. I printed out the image multiple times and then
cut and layered it with foam.My background was colored with
 some ink and water colors.

The bottom was cut with a Spellbinder
Elegant Square die.  A flourish and some
leaves made out of some a corregated coffee sleeve
were added to the Sunflowers. I printed out the rest
of the sentiment to go with the Bloom sentiment
and doodled them.Lastly I used some multicolored
 crochet ribbon to tie on.
The colors look kinda bright in these pics in  person they are bold but look richer and the
dimension is much more obvious too.

The pic on the right and below gives you a better idea of the
dimension. The ribbon looks nice as it also has lots of teal
in it to go with the tag color.

This weeks Color Challenge

at MFP's is the color purple, my Favorite!!. You can use  neutrals
black and white plus a small amount of another color. I have added  a tad of green.
Using purple I created a striped dp for the base and distressed it
. Another piece was embossed and some purple and  paste added to it.
A flower image from the Camellia Set was stamped with gold embossing
powder and cut out with a Spellbinder Elegant Squares. The sentiment from the
Oopsy Daisy Set was stamped and cut out with a Spellbinder Fancy Label
and some background colors added to it. My flower was
cut with the Spellbinder Rose dies
and distressed  with a little cheesecloth and leaves tucked in
behind. A tiny flower was added to the sentiment and
a few matching sequins scattered.
A layer of lace and pearls were added because girls always
need some pearls and lace in their life!

April Power & Spark Challenge

Over at the Poppy Power Blog the new Challenge has begun and its a real challenge.
You Pick Three..colors that is to be used for your card.
I thought how is this possible...so set out to see what would happen.
I dont have many Copics so really had to contemplate on what would work with what I have.
Seemed the 3 that could be used to shade and color together would be these.
Actually it wasnt quite as hard as I thought it would be but still a challenge lol!!
I Love the new Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher image so used that for todays card.
After I got my image all colored I dropped a big drop of alcohol on it and the
color spread out all over SO after all the time I spent coloring  it
I was Not starting over !!
The only way to save it was to cut it out and add it to the Spellbinder mat.
The checked dp actually matches better in person, it doesn't so pink. I had a little
piece of ribbon that I had dyed for another project so used that and the
little piece of lace from Ribbon Resource
. A sprinkle of sequins and sentiment and
I was surprised I did make it with 3 colors!!

Happy April~~~

Things are heating up WAY to quickly here in the desert.
I was hoping the heat would hold off for a bit but no such luck!
And Most people are wanting warmer weather lol. Well this is the first week
of the month at MFP Challenge and that means CAS and the
theme this week is Rain...A Rainy cas
that can only have one layer other than the base, lots of white and at least
one stamped image. I admire all you who make CAS look so easy and wonderful.
I really struggle with these! So I have used the umbrella and
sentiment from the Rain Drops Set.
The clouds are cut with a die and embossed and a  little rain added.
I colored the umbrella and dotted it so it wouldn't look so plain.
After it was done and I took the pic I see I shouldnt
have dotted it since the clouds were
embossed with dots, oh well to late lol!
