Are you ready for the new FOSTV Challenge?

This week the challenge is to make a set of note cards.
We all ran different directions with this one so stop over and see all the GREAT
inspirations my teamies have for you. I have used a border technique we
learned a TTSTV a few weeks ago. I have used 10 different stamp sets
for the cards and holder....Dogwood Blossoms, Asian Delights
Train Talk, Classic Dad, Wealthy Fish and the new June release
Great Flower, Just a Note, Dino News, Tiger Lily, and the
Today Tomorrow and Always Sets.

After stamping  the images on each I used embossing folders to add
texture to the bottom of each. Each one was colored and
I added a little glitter to the train and card images for
the silver metal accents.

I then used different Spellbinder dies to cut
different colored papers for the sentiments.

For the holder I took one long piece of paper folded twice
added the image and embossing then rounded the corner and added
a piece of velcro for a closure. Voila
a quick set of note cards, a cute little gift for someone.

Happy Friday...a new challenge today

Barbie Dobson is sharing the tutorial this week at Tutorial Time with Speedy TV.
She has detailed instructions for the fun Pocket Greeting Card.
This one was fun and can have a variety of takes for all kinds of occasions!
I did a feminine floral one. Using the flowers from the
May Friends Set, I stamped along the front border.
after addding the dp to the turned up part I punched it with a
Martha Stewart arches then tied the ribbon around it. It
forms a stop to tuck the top into.

Here is the inside of the card of the card, added
another punched piece of dp to match the pocket.
Here  is the tag tucked into the pocket. I cut it out with a Spellbinder
and added one of the cut out flowers from the Friends Set.

An Easy Peasy Challenge this week!!

Buttons Buttons Buttons,,,,Friends of Speedy TV are challenging
you to use some buttons on your creations!
Everyone has buttons so stop on over and join our challenge this week!

I used a My Minds Eye dp and added the yellow center. It looks almost green,
in person but it looks very nice with the dp.both layers stitched onto the base.
The image is from the May Release, Tiger Lily Set, there is also a beautiful
Bearded Iris all found a Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
this one was fun to color. Lilies come in so many different colors
that you could do it any color. I chose yellow for a sunny happy
look. My friend Martha sent me the die for the background so I
dont know the name of it. The lily was foam dotted on for some
dimension. I added several buttons picking up the different
colors on the card. The sentiment is from the Dogwood Blossom Set and
punched with a couple of Stampin Up punches.

Here is a chance to used some of your old photos

I have chosen to use a pic of my mom and dad.
This is a pic of their wedding day in 1944. It is actually a separate pic
of each of them that I pieced together. If you look at it you can see where I pieced it.
I think the pic of my mom was  taken a little closer because my mom looks
taller than my dad but actually she is quite petite. She was
only 5'3" and my dad is 5'7".
Now there is an amazing love story behind this pic
Much much to long to share here but the quick highlite is...
They met in Topock, Az. when my dad was 19 and
mom 13, love at first sight!  He lived there and her step father's job brought
them there to work on the railroad bridge for a short time. Two years later
my dad was in the army preparing to leave for the Phillipines WWII.
 My mom who actually
lived on a train part time because of her step fathers job,
was living in New Mexico at the time and
had no phone. My dad sent a telegram asking her to marry him
before he left. My mom was pretty independent and very mature fifteen,
she had traveled the country between her parents and family  alone since
the age of 7. My mom convinced my grandma  that he was the right one!!
My grandma wasnt able to go with her
but gave her money for a dress and shoes and bought her a
ticket to Florence, Az  My dad met her at the train station
took her to get a dress and shoes and
they got married at the court house. Seventy years later
 they are still sweethearts!!
Since it is a 70 year old photoI wanted it to have a vintage
look so used the black, grey and celery green. The background
was embossed with the dotted swiss folder and stitched onto
the white. The celery oval is a
Spellbinder Opulent Ovals and the grey rectangle
is from the Spellbinder  Radiant Rectangles.I rounded the corners of the pic and foam
dotted onto the grey. The sentiment is from the Love Love Love Set.
The rose was cut with a Spellbinder Bitty Blossom
and a leaf cut out of some burlap.

We all have fun ideas for using old photos so come check out
my teammates creations also!

This week Friends of Speedy TV

is challenging you to make a Side Step Card

I have only made a step card once before so it was a little challenging but I
persevered. There are some great tutorials out there to help
you out, just google it.I had great plans for a very feminine vintage type card
but my mojo has taken a vacation lately and apparently is in no rush to return~~.
This is the quick second plan lol! You can find all the stamp sets at
Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. where each month there is a
release of New Sets!! After coloring all the images I cut them out
and combined some of the mushrooms. All the images and
sentiment are from what else but the Fairies Set. Now what
could be a more perfect seat for a fairy than a mushroom.
The fairies wings are shimmering because they are covered
with that magic fairy dust!
Used some yellow borders cut with MS punches to
add some embelishment. Also cut a little grass to go
in front of the mushrooms.

My teamies have some very cool creations, you really will want to stop by
and visit them!Come join in the fun this week.

The winner will take home the  Gullible Mini Set

Happy Monday!!

Its time for a new Challenge at Friends of Speedy TV.his week is a color
challenge, Red White & Blue. My first thought was a card for
the 4th of July but after some thought I decided to go CAS for something
different. My friend Martha sent me a stack of embossed papers with
some of her new folders so I dont know the name of this one
but I really like all the different circles and textures. My image
is from the Black Eyed Susans Mini Set. After coloring
I cut it out and foam dotted on.
The sentiment is from the Dogwood Blossom Set punched
and added to a embossed circle. The little jewel butterfly
to add a  little pop of red.

Cling Wrap Alcohol Background is

the Challenge at TTSTV today! This one is easy and fun.
There is such a variety of outcomes that you are sure to find something
you like. I used one of the images from the new June Release, Tree Frogs Set.
I wanted a background that had a bit of a tropical look to it, so chose the ink
colors to use accordingly. After drying the paper I embossed with the
medium circle folder. Popped up my frog after coloring and cutting
him out. Added a little glossy accents to his eyes.
I like that its simple and fun.

Do you like the beach?

I love the smells and sounds of the ocean however the only beaches I  see
are along the Colorado River that flows thru this valley. In our area it is
the dividing line between California and Arizona. It brings a bit of green to
our otherwise HOT dry desert, and summer is on it way...110 degrees today!
So onto our FOSTV Challenge today, it's a Beach Theme....
I have used a stripe with colors that reminds me of the water, wet sand,
foam, shells and sea weed on the beach. After stiching and distressing
the edges a bit I added it to the aqua.  The image is a partial from the
Island Life Set. I stamped it in Stampin Up Going grey for a muted
look. A little cheesecloth behind to mimic some nets and a piece
of cork with a starfish attached. The Sentiment is also
from the Island Life Set.

Winner takes home this lovely Set so join in the fun!!
