FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV # 83

Happy Monday all! Today our FOSTV Challenge is a CAS....clean and simple.
Now this is a challenge for me for sure., one layer and no dp oh my!
After stamping and coloring my image I thought it really did need something
else so I embossed a frame around it. Just a little ribbon for some kind
of accent, I think this has to be the quickest card I have ever made.
Stop by and give it a try, you will be amazed how
quickly you can make a single layer card!!

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV #59

LOTS OF PHOTOS ON THIS POST!

Are you happy to see Friday, I know I sure am!
Today our TTSTV Challenge is  brought to us by Jane Chambers It is to make a Hanging Treat Holder
Her easy to follow Tutorial is Here.
Using some Bazzill paper I cut out my base according
to her tutorial  and used some Cosmos Criket dp to
embellish it  and a border punch for the top edge.
. I made mine a little seed holder to
give to a friend who wants to try her hand at
gardening this fall. I save seeds yearly so decided to
share some with her. Marks Finest Paper's a Heinrich Co has the perfect stamp for this occasion.  The Seed Packet Stamp Set was just the ticket. I used the Seed Packet image to make my own seed packages. I have a little tutorial to show you how I did it. I used a variety of
images for the seed packets, the peas and tomato images
are also from the Seed Packet Set. The peppers are
from the Some Like It Hot Set and the Basil is the palm
leaves from the I Need A Vacation Set, had to be
a little creative there lol!

The first thing I did was to measure the image double plus 1 inch  for the length and add 1/4 inch to each side. I then stamped and cut it out.

Using my score board I rand a score line the length of the paper along side the image. I also ran a score line across the paper at top and bottom of image.

Next step was to cut along the score line on the blank end up to the score line crossing at the bottom of the image. Next I cut along the score line from the top of paper down to the score line across top of image. Then cut away that piece. I also cut away a little from each side to form more of a tob closure for the back of the packet.

This is what it looks like when all the pieces are cut away and ready to put together.
I ran glue along the little quarter inch scored sides, folded the bottom up and then
folded over the little edges to form the packet to put the seeds in. It then looks
like this on the back side.

Here they are with the images on the front and ready to be filled with the seeds. The peas and daisy I stamped directly onto the packet, the others I stamped, cut out and attached. There was not a daisy or basil stamp so I stamped  Seeds at the top and just wrote those on the packet.
Now here is my little box filled with the little packets of seeds to start the garden.
I will add a few more goodies but must wait to go to town to get them. Also
will give her a bag of my compost to get them started in.
I also added a couple rolled flowers and a die cuts all from Spellbinders.
Hope you will come join in the fun this week.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN TEAM B

Today starts a new CHALLENGE at Tuesday Throwdown.
This week it is Toes in The Sand!  Show us something Beachy. The Colorado River
runs right thru the little valley we live in. It is a  oasis in the middle of a scorching desert!
You will find trails the animals travel to come to the water. Along the rivers edge there are
some sandy beaches along with the rocks and greenery. The river is very cold
considering it is running thru a VERY hot desert and it is very refreshing
.Many people spends lots of time at the beaches to find some relief
from the heat. We have lots of tourists who come on weekends
and holidays to enjoy the river!

I know that you all were wanting that tidbit of info right LOL!
So getting on with the challenge. I have used the Sweet and Sassy image called Hello Summer.
After coloring I cut out the images. Put the kraft thru the dotted swiss folder to represent sand.
Was going to go down to the beach and put real sand on it but was a
very hectic week so didnt make it. The water is made using the
reverse of a scalloped die. I used chalks to created the sky.
Pretty simple card today. Be sure to come join us this
week and the team has some great inspiration for you.       .

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV #58

We have a very fun TTSTV CHALLENGE this week brought to us by Pam Stang. It is a A2 crimped envie pocket card!  Now it will work with any size envelope you want to use,as long as it will fit thru your crimper. I did use a larger one.

I used four different inks to created the background
on the envelope before cutting off the top and
crimping the bottom I used the Spellbinder Beaded
Circle to cut out the aqua and the did a little Spirelli on it.  Next Using the Dogwood Blossom Set I stamped, colored and cut out two of the flowers to use as embellies.. I also used one of the hummingbirds from the Hum Along Set.
Tied a little dotted ribbon around  the top and
 attached the flower and hummer
.When you crimp the bottom section it draws it
up just enough for the top to easily slip on and off!
I made a giant tag to put into the pocket instead of a card. I added four layers and shapes for some fun. Some stitching of the layers and then added more of the Dogwood Blossoms for some more embellishment. I made a little tab for the top and its done. Great for a quick matching envelope. Really this is one of those sky is the limit  deal because there are limitless possibilities with it!

FREINDS OF SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE #

Hope you all had a great weekend! Our area is still suffering from sweltering heat

a little time crafting for the afternoon Saturday.
I will show you some of that soon.
 For today our FOSTV Challenge
is to do a monocromatic creation! I'm a color gal so monocromes
always seem to throw me lol! The new July Releases  from Mark's Finest Papers
a Heinrich Co. are now available and

sentiment from the new Be Virtuous Set.Be sure to stop by and
out all the new sets for this month, you are sure to find some to
your liking! I love the beautiful word
GRACE! It always reminds me of what I deserve but yet what
God extended to me. After coloring it looked so blah I had to use
some green for the pad and pods. My papers are from SU

little mounds of grass and a couple punches to make the sun for the scene.

On the inside I used the flamingo from the I Need A Vacation Set
and the tree is from the Tree Greetings Set. I stamped the flamingo
on pink paper and cut out. The tree was stamped, colored and then
added some mounds of grass to put the flamingo in.

Card front then opens to reveal the little peek a boo message that slides

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV #79

Have you heard about the brutal heat wave we are having here in the Southwest,
Has been in the 120s for 4 days, 124 yesterday and supposed to hang around 118 for
the next week. When its that hot the nights only cool to the high 90s
and all the plants are burnt so Im having to water day and night.
I say we should all average our temps and we would all have great weather!
I have used one of the new June releases Be Proud
After coloring the Eagle it was cut out with a Scalloped Spellbinder
The center was embossed and all stitched together.
The two strips of stars are cut  from PTI die.
My talented teammates have lots of GREAT Inspiration for you, so be
sure to stop by and check theirs out!
Excessive heat sparks wildfires and in Arizona, 19 Elite firefighters lost their lives yesterday  while fighting the fires. Please remember their families in prayer.
