Tutorial Time on Speedy TV # 5

Our Tutorial Time this week is positive and negative masking.
I have to admit I have never tried this technique before. I
only have a few inks so I was a little limited to my color
choice. There are several steps to this technique. You need
to stamp and cut out positive and negatives masks of the
image Mine was done using one of  the lovely dogwood
images from the Dogwood Blossoms Set.You will find this
set and so many more at
Using some pearl embossing powder I stamped and embossed
several images on the base. Using my masks I first inked my
image  then masked my flowers to do the background.
One more flower cut out with a Spellbinder Label # 17
A sheer ribbon tied on and the sentiment added.
Lagene did a fabulous job on the tutorial showing how to
make her beautiful card, you will find it HERE

Tuesday Throwdown

We have a easy peasy Challenge today....Use gingham
somewhere on your creation. I went for pink and girly.
The pretty image is from our sponsor Sweet N Sassy
I water colored the image before cutting our with the
Spellbinder Scalloped Circle. Using the Spellbinder
scalloped edge for each end of the card and a little
rick rack. The white is an old Spellbinder doily that
I have no clue what the name is and next  the pink
layer is cut with the Beaded Circles. The sentiment
was cut out with the scalloped circle and foam dotted on.
A little hand dyed ribbon bow tied with a cute little
square button. As always our talented group of ladies
 have great inspiration for you.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge # 26

Hope you all had a great weekend. It is time for a
new challenge at FOSTV. Since the 4th of July
is just around the corner that is our challenge this week.
I chose to use the Lady Liberty Set for my card. I
started with the in God We Trust stamping in rows
across the Nina K paper. Next I used a piece of a
replica vintage paperbag torn for one side. Stitching
around that and also around my piece of Webster
Pages star dp.After stamping Lady Liberty I cut
out and distressed the edges. Using the Spellbinder
stars I cut out several sizes and tied the button onto
the larger one.Using the Celebrate sentiment from the
set I mounted onto a scrap of the star dp. The
Spellbinder pennants were cut from some Webster
Pages striped dp and the letters added.

This is the free set for this weeks winner

Tuesday Throwdown

Good Morning, here at Tuesday Throwdown our
challenge is a window card.
Our sponsor is My Grafico and my image is Bee,
imagine that lol. I printed it out in several sizes and
cut out just the bee to put on the flowers. The wings
were covered in diamond dust Stickles.I used the
swirl embossing folder for the card base. Using
the Spellbinder scalloped oval I cut out the window
then a frame to go around it. The image was cut
and added to the inside of the card to show
thru the window. The flowers were made
with some punches and dies. Adding the bees
to the flowers, making a little card to
encourage a friend.

Hope your weekend was a good one. I was trying to
get my gardens all ready for the higher temps. Summer
is really here now its going to be at least 113 for the week.
Our theme this week is a most appropriate one...summer.
One of the new sets from
Where better  place to be in the summer than at the beach!
After water coloring this image I stitched onto the blue, trying
to keep it light and beachy in color. A piece of a potato
bag made a good net with a little float tied on.
While my daughter was living on a island in Puget Sound
my grandson and I picked up these tiny shells on the
beach. Made the card a extra special because
we made great memories hunting the beaches for treasures!

It is time for another Tutorial Time with Speedy TV.

used chalk to create my background then made my tunnel.

cut it out in pieces.I attached by train and then filled in
the tracks between the cut pieces. The foreground was
made by tearing some grey paper and darkening the
torn edges. After stamping the sentiment I layered and
foam dotted on. I used the train and sentiment from

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

This is our 2nd Challenge at
Tutorial Time with Speedy TV . Each
week we will feature a new technique.
you will find some fabulous stamp sets. I have
used the lemons from the Pucker Up set and my
sentiments are from the Dogwood Blossom set.
There will be a tutorial to
show you and the team will use the technique in their
creations to inspire you. This week Pat has made a tutorial
and asked us to do masked centers.First masked off the
center of my card then I used Versamark to stamp my
lemon images, next  heat embossed with white embossing
powder. After that I used two
shades of distressed ink to color the masked area

. I wiped the ink off the embossed images. Next I stamped the
sentiment across several times. Next using brown ink I
stamped the lemon images some more and cut one out top
pop up on the bottom. This was all mounted onto some Kraft
card stock with a string tied around it and a button attached.
Lots of steps but a pretty simple card. I only had the
distressed browns but some of the other team members used
others colors and they are quite pretty. Stop by
 and check them out!

The lucky winner will receive  this lovely set so come
 join us today~~

color challenge. This is my favorite color combo,
I love green and purple together!

A simple card with some My Minds Eye papers and a
die cut border from Spellbinder. Both the oval and tag are
Spellbinders also. I made a fun flower  with a glitter center
and there you are a quick little card
to encourage someone!

Aren't the weeks just flying by??? Here we are Tuesday
again and time for our new Challenge. This weeks
sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and our theme is Friendship.
The treasure of a good friendship is beyond measure
don't you think? For my card I stitched on the dp and .
added a little lace to frill it up a bit
I chose the teapot image because I
collect them and sharing a spot of tea with a friend
is always a treat! I colored the teapot
then cut out with the Spellbinder scalloped oval.
The rose is make with the Spellbinder bitty blossom.
The small ones I made myself along with the leaves.
The sentiment was punched out and attached with the
button. I had printed a tiny teapot, cut out, colored
 and attached to the sentiment.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge 23

Hope you all had a good weekend and are staying cool. Here
in the desert triple digit temps are soaring.
Makes you want to stay indoors for sure!
At FOSTV our new challenge this week is
buttons and bows. The team has some
great inspirational creations you will want to see, so
stop over and visit. I used some pink Bazzill paper and the
stripped is some recycle from a package stitched on. Used the
copics instead of water color for the poppies, not so
happy with them but making myself use them.
You know it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!!

The poppies were cut out with a Spellbinder
label # 18, distressed and faux stitched.
Used a MS Arches punch for the edging to attach the
sentiment to, buttons and dyed ribbon for a bow
to complete my card. Thanks for stopping by
and I hope you will join our challenge.

Tutorial Time with SpeedyTV # 1 Challenge

Happy Friday to you all!! Exciting news here at
Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
We have a new challenge: Tutorial Time with Speedy TV!
I am delighted to be a part of this new team.
Each week team members will take turns doing a tutorial on a technique.
The challenge will be for you to use that technique in your creation.
For our first week it is Coloring on Distressed Inks.
For my background I used Tim Holtz Antique
Linen Distressed ink, and for the flower I used
Scattered Straw. After distressing  paper for the bg I used the
Butterfly image from the Spring Joy set. I cut one of the butterflies
out and then cut some of the wing off to make it smaller
Because there is so much detail on the butterfly the
distressing doesn't show up to well on the image itself.
A little stitching, daisy lace and some
checkered leaves makes for a rather quick and simple card.

Be sure to stop on over and check out
Tammylee's tutorial here and give the technique a whirl
 Thanks for stopping by today
and hope you have a great weekend.

This weeks winner will receive this beautiful
  Spring Flowers Set
