You know phone calls in the night are never good.
We got a call at 2:30 am, my husband's best friend had
just passed away and they wanted him to come. Its been a long day
but not sleepy yet so thought I would share last weekends things.

Last Saturday I spoke at a little mini day retreat up in the Hualapai Mts.
It was a glorious day, storm clouds off and on with some thunder,
a few sprinkles and a little breeze in the pines. Wonderful
respite from the hot desert. We set
up at a camp site on the mountain and looking over the valley.
We had a wonderful time in the Word, prayer and
fellowship and of course lunch. Pastor's wife asked me to
make up a little take home bible study booklet.I
water colored the front, stamped some flowers
and added the title cut out with Spellbinders,
made a couple little flowers for each and then
stapled it together like a regular book and tied
each one with some fibers.

I also made a booklet with a poem, the scriptures I
was speaking about and a few other encouraging items.
These were decorated with a punched edge and tied
closed at the top. Used a Spellbinder to cut the title and
decorated with a flower. The bottom half of each
front was also embossed. I also made up bookmarks
with a variety of scriptures and
designs for each lady. So in all I made 50 books and 25
bookmarks. Doesn't look like much but it was a lot of work
as there were 21 pages between both booklets plus covers .

Pastor's wife, myself and our new Youth
Pastor's wife stayed and hiked up to the top of the mountain
and enjoyed the fabulous view then went down the Mt
to the lodge and spent a little time showing Michelle
around then back down the Mt and home again.

Here we are Wednesday already :) Two posts today
First is The Pixie Cottage and as usual you can use the sketch and/
or theme...Pop it Up. I popped up in several ways. Don't you
love this image called Fall Wagon Wheel, found at Michelle's

popped up then popped up the image itself.
Next I punched out a bunch of leaves, added some
veining, scrunched a bit and scattered
all around the image.

Using a punch I made the pumpkins and popped up.
Tore, textured and added the brown to the corner along

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Today we have a recipe challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. The
recipe is 3 dps 2 buttons & 1 ribbon. Our Sponsor is Robyn's Fetish.
Looking forward to see all of your lovely creations

I used two images Tea for Two & English Tea Cup.They were
water colored and then gold touches and beading added to look like
my grandmothers old set. If you enlarge them you can see it better.

Thought it would be fun to make an easel card and put one image
on each part. Added on the curvy embossed top section, tea dyed
the ribbon and made a little rose and leaves for the center.
I also made the little tea bags to hang from the bow.
Stitched around the whole card top and bottom. I
cut out a striped dp to set the teapot on.
They are all pop dotted up.

Although you can't see without enlarging the creme paper
has faint butterflies on it so the others go with it. Added a blue and beige
print to the top and another torn piece to the bottom.
It was all distressed for an aged look.

I painted, distressed and dotted the chipboard flourish to set the
sentiment on. The sentiment was outlined with gold and
beading added to it also. Used my 2 buttons as stops. I
made the rose, bud and leaves for the front corner.
My sweet husband bought me a tackle box from the thrift
store full of pearls, pins, beads and other dodads
plus these wonderful little tatted doilies that
I used under my tea cup.
Stop by and see all the other wonderful creations
