TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE #15

We have great Tuesday Throwdown today!! Ribbon with a twist, that is using ribbon in different ways. I decided to crochet a flower with ribbon. I got home early this morning from my trip to visit my daughter. On the flight home I made lots of flowers out of 1/8" ribbon and decided to use this brown two layer one. I used the sketch from MOJO Monday. I also made a ruched strip from the seam binding I dyed to match the leaves. The lt brown is embossed with a wood grain folder. The brown lattice is punched with a MS punch and attached to the textured piece. The peach background are cut with a peony die cut and stitched around with brown. The crocheted flower was attached and a flower button center added from my button box. I cut out two leaves and scrunched them to give them some dimension. The sentiment is from SU and cut out with a scalloped oval nestie, a bow attached and all foam dotted up. A scalloped corner added and all attached to a peach SU card stock. The edges were distressed with chalk and stitched.

Pixie Cottage is challenging you to a sketch and/or theme of back to school. I am in Tenn visiting my daughter for my granddaughters 3rd birthday. I do not have anything with me except the image I brought. This was definately a brainstorming exercise.They have a hobby lobby so she took me by to get some paper and I used a notebook to alter. Covered the cover with a solid blue and then a school print. I made a pocket to hold the calculator and for the pen. I watercolored the cute little fuzzy kitty image called To You From Us by Di Carubia then cut out with the nestie#10. Ran the ribbon down and made a couple loops at the bottom which I fastened down with some buttons. I cut out some circle layers and added some button centers. I faux stitched around everything.

This card was for my granddaughters 3rd birthday. I flew here to Tenn in time for her birthday party Saturday. Its been a whirlwind few days so didnt get this written up and her computer is soooo slow! I made a gate card with very girly in pinks. I used the MS hydrangea punch for the edges,spellbinder nestie # 11 and the scallop oval. I ran the white thru the dotted swiss folder punched the corners and added buttons. I added stickles to all the punched flower centers. to the edges of the large flower and around the #3. It is all tied shut with the ribbon. I added some little belt loops to the back of the card to hold the ribbon even when its open. On the front I added a flower with a button center and some little flowers to the birthday scroll. Sorry for all the pics I took them friday night before I left and figured I edit when I got here but this computer will not let me delete them.
Also fits challenges;

The challenge today is rock and roll so be sure to join us at Tuesday Throwdown. I started with a very pretty dp from My Minds Eye. I faux stitched around the edge and added the scroll for the sentiment. I used and old no name leaf stamp. This is my first time doing this technique and all that I read said a solid stamp worked best. I had a few green ink pads so used two different lighter colors and then rolled the edges in darker colors. I cut out the three leaves and foam dotted them up for a little dimension.

Wednesday means another Pixie Cottage Challenge and we have a fun one today! Anything but a card so let your imagination run wild. I chose to do a basket. I used colorbox textured aqua. I cut the handle out and ran it thru the crimper and added the edges made out of MS lace heart punch. I also ran it around the top. I used some gingham that matched, gathered it up and run up the center of the handle and made a bow and a couple of yo yo flowers with it. I used the spellbinder label #4 #13 for the tag and then faux stitched it and added the little flower with a button center. My sweet image is Valentine Hannah by Sandra Hammer. I watercolored her and then cut her out. I added my most favorite thing, flowers to cover the hearts in her basket and a butterfly for her hand. I used a scalloped circle punch for the peach and white flowers and used a spellbinder reverse scallop for the purple flower and added different centers to all of them. Cut out some leaves and grass and it done. Made a fun gift basket.

Since my machine isnt working I made faux stitching with a hot pink to match the flowers. Made a band with a ribbon, buttons and a flower I made with some of the SU pink. For the inside I used a MS dotted scallop punch for the dp and white, rand the green strip thru the dotted swiss folder. This is one of the new released, Hannah swinging by Sandra Hammer. Got it done so can go in the mail tomorrow. The image is called whoosh from The digital Pencil. I water colored it and foam dotted it to the mat. Both cut with the #3 nestie. I used a MS loop punch to jazz up the HB. The bottom half of the card dp is from Kelly Panacci . Just couldnt find something that worked with it so using colored pencils I made did the geometric top. Stampin' Sisters in Christ/ Birds

Stampin' Sisters in Christ chose the Scripture Isaiah 40:31.The challenge was anything with birds. I used a digi from Isabella and the sketch from Truly Scrumptious. I water colored the birds and flowers and then used stickles to bling them up a bit. It was cut out with a scalloped nestie then foam dotted up. I cut the sentiment with a curve to mimic the bottom curved layered, grunged and added the little jewel. All the layers were distressed and faux stitched as my sewing machine croaked. The flowers on the dp and the one I made also have stickles on them with a little jewel center on the one. I looped the ribbon and sewed it together with the button.If you look closely you can see that I cut out and pieced the leaf, stem and flower from the dp.

Since we are doing monochromatic I stamped her in brown Momento ink, lightly colored her in brown, shaded around her with brown chalk and cut out with a label #4 nestie. My checked and dotted paper is by Webster. I used the MS scalloped punch for the stripe and creme and also cut the creme in strips. Next layer is a scrap of tan tone on tone dots with the large brown and creme dots on top of it. Foam dotted the image and attached her.
