My card is for the Penny Black Challenge: The challenge was to use blue, cream and gold & Cooking it up with Kate: Non human image, texture and something new. I used a heavy textured dark blue base. Just couldnt seem to get a clear enough photo to see the texture. The edge is punched to run a ribbon thru. I used my new label 1 nestie to cut the two cream shaped squares. I ran them thru a folder to texture and used some straw ink to grunge up and show the texture a bit. I cut the cream and the blue which is a graphic 45 print with the dahlia nestie. I alternated colors to form the flowers with a brad in the center. I then stamped the penny black hedgie and cut out with the label 1 nestie. Watercolored the image and grunged the edges. Added the three buttons from my button box which added the gold and the sentiment.

My card is for Pixie Dust Challenge: a shaped card A Creative Card Crew and Simon Says: to punch it. Simon Says is having a design team call. Don't you think that it would be great fun to be a part of their team. I chose to do a straw hat that took me a couple tries to get the shape right and still open. I then ran my cream paper thru the cripper both directions to give a woven straw effect and then wiped a little golden color to bring out the texture. I made the paper roses By using a scalloped punch and shaping them into petals and I punched the leaves from a dp. If you look closely at the large rose you will see a tiny bee on one of the petals. I cut the ribbon from the polka dots dp and added the sentiment. I have a friend who likes to garden so this will be a fun card for her.

This card is for Our Creative Corner Challenge: Use blue and green. I made a gate card and added a circle to overlap. Added the dp over half of the circle. Added green stickle dots around half circle. Colored the tilda in greens and blue and seated her on the bench. Added the buttons, sentiment and bow.

My tag is for the Three Challenges.... Tuesday Taggers Challenge: Tag it with birds, Sqigglefly Challenge: Anything but a card and Crafty Creations: Texture. My tag is made with these beautiful My minds Eye papers which I aged and tore and applied to my base tag. I stamped some leaves and glittered them and some shimmer spray was also added for the top area. I added some texture to the flourish, painted it white, aged it a bit and added it over the top of part of the image. The raised leaves are cut out to mimic the shape of the leaves in the image. I cut them out of some brown cardstock and stamped them with a webbing stamp to give them a veining effect and then shaped them for more dimension. A also added a stem to attach them to. I used a button which is the same burgandy color as the birds even though it looks black in the pic. I added several different coordinating fibers to match the tag.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ & Allsorts Challenges

My Card is for Stampin' Sisters in Christ & Allsorts Challenges. Stampin' Sisters in Christ scripture was II Corinthians 5:17 and the challenge was to make a new born card.Allsorts was this great sketch and to use up some of your stash. MY good friend's daughter is having a baby in a few weeks so this was a perfect chance to get her shower card done! Could you tell its a girl?? :) She loves lavender so I chose 3 different lavender prints to use. I love easel cards and I wanted something special for her. I stamped the image from SU nursery set and mounted it on a darker lavender cut out with reverse circle nestie and punched holes around it. I stitched the blocks on and stamped with a flourish and then glittered it up some. Mounted the image on foam dots, put the sentiment on, wrapped the ribbon around opposite corners and put a second little lamb in the corner. On the bottom part I punched one of the prints with the MS hearts and then stitched down rows of the three prints I ran a little strip of ribbon down each side. I mounted the scripture attached the back end with foam dots to raise it up and fasten down on the front end, so it would be slightly elevated to view it easier. I stamped some flourishes and glittered them also.

Two Challenges: Stamp Something & Creative Card Crew

This card is for Stamp Something Challenge and Creative Card Crew Challenge. The challenge was to use something new for Stamp Something and Creative Card Crew was anything goes. My inspiration was my cool new button!! I love glitz and stickles always adds great sparkle. :) I started with creme base and added a rose color and punched the bottom end with the ekmorrocan. I also punched a second strip to run up the side. Stamped some flourishes and stickled some of them along with the dots along the punched edges. My image is watercolored and cut out and mounted on the grungy pink from my minds eye. Mounted that onto the black and mounted with the foam dots so it would stand up for some dimension. I added the burgandy ribbon going up the side and then the lace going across the bottom. I made a bow out of the lace and added a bit of the burgandy . I sewed on my beautiful button which I thought was perfect with the lace. I sewed it on with the little glass bead.

Our Creative Corner Challenge

This is for Our Creative Corner. The challenge was clean and simple. A gal at church loves my Chicken Divan and so I made a recipe card that she can display. Her kitchen has roosters so I used this cute stamp that is a rooster with a french recipe behind it. I cut it out with a oval nestie and then mounted on another. I love the daisy d paper with the red flowers and print behind it. Just seemed to fit the bill. I tore pieces and mounted on the green. Punched the red and kraft square and sewed a button onto it. I tied the raffia across to tie the card shut. Rolled up the bottom corner a bit. Inside I added the torn dp on each side panel. I mounted the recipe onto the red and attached it. I grundged it up inside and out a bit to look as if it had been used for a while. I plan to present to her with a little pan of the Chicken Divan.
